I have a vision of the world as a global village, a world without boundaries. -Christa McAuliffe
The British Council International Dimension in Schools Award -IDS (earlier International School Award- ISA) is a bench-marking scheme that accredits schools as having an outstanding level of support for nurturing global citizenship in young people and enriching teaching and learning. Th is international award now has a presence in 31 countries worldwide.
It is a three-year accreditation focusing on the implementation of international dimension in a school’s curriculum. It has a positive impact on not just the students, but also the teachers and school in entirety. It is a leadership challenge which fosters team building, innovation, and project management.
International Dimension in Schools celebrates a school's effort to include international work and helps embed it within the school's culture. The programme supports schools in fostering an international ethos throughout the school and embedding it within the curriculum.
Proudly we can say that Sachdeva Public School, Pitampura was felicitated with this award for a third consecutive term. Under the able guidance of school principal Ms. Mona Rastogi, five projects on diverse topics ranging from national symbols to indoor games to currencies and endangered animals were undertaken by the school as a part of the IDS programme 2022-2025.
The activities planned were multi-dimensional, connected to the school curriculum and for students of classes 1 to11. The pandemic was not a deterrent in conducting international activities. Our students interacted with their counterparts in Taiwan, Bangladesh and Poland through online activities organized on virtual platform. The international exposure has helped us in developing the capacities of school students as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
